When I visited the tea plantation, they served me freshly processed black tea.
The tea fields, divided into 16 sections, are planted with 32% China variety, 60% Assam hybrid, and 8% clonal varieties. Among them, this estate is one of the precious few that provides us with teas featuring the traditional Darjeeling flavor crafted from China variety bushes.
Darjeeling: A Fragrance Nurtured by the Himalayas
Darjeeling has three quality seasons, each with its own distinct personality: spring, summer, and autumn. The second flush, harvested from late May to June, is filled with a rich, mellow flavor and aroma nurtured by the summer sun. Certain high-quality varieties possess a "muscatel" (musk) flavor—a sweet, lingering aroma unique to Darjeeling that spreads deep in the throat.
